Reverend Karla Garcia is a native of Rockford, Illinois. She is married to Jorge Garcia and they have 5 children: (Ashley, Brandon, Lindsey, Noah and Arianna) along with 3 granddaughters: (Peyton, Alexandria and Brooklynn) and 3 grandsons: (Elijah, Micah and Joshua). Reverend Karla was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2008. She was previously a member of the ministerial team at Allen Chapel AME Church in Rockford, Illinois where she served as the Intercessory Prayer Coordinator; Co-Instructor for the New Member’s Class; Co-Facilitator of the Empowering Couples Ministry; and the Coordinator of the Nurse’s Guild. She was appointed as the Pastor of S.S. Morris Community AME Church in Madison, Wisconsin in November, 2014. 

Reverend Karla graduated from the Rockford School of Nursing; she has an Associate of Arts Degree from Rock Valley College; Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Human Services from Judson University; Master’s of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Health Services Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and she completed all the coursework for a Doctorate of Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Argosy University.

Reverend Karla is the former Academic Dean at Rockford Career College; former Adjunct Professor for Kaplan University and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Upper Iowa University. She is the former Director of Employee Development and Training for Phoenix Care Systems, Inc. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Pi Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is the host of her own weekly Radio Show entitled “Radiant Life” on the Stellar Award Winning Internet Gospel Radio Station SOAR Radio and she is a former contributing writer for Uncommon Grounds Magazine. She is the author of “God’s Radiant Chick” 21 Days of Healing Meditations, Thoughts, Affirmations and Prayers. 



She is a Certified Fitness Trainer (International Sports Sciences Association). She is also a Certified Life Coach and she owns Radiant Life a wellness company that offers fitness, nutrition and life coaching services. She also is a Certified Reflexologist and Clinical Massage Therapist. She was awarded the Excellence in Teaching and Instructor of the Year (2014-2015) Award from Upper Iowa University; she was awarded the 2017 Landmark Award for community service; and she was awarded the Nurse of the Year for 2017-2018 from Maxim Healthcare Services. Reverend Karla loves praying, worshipping, praising, preaching, teaching, motivating, and sharing the Word of God.
